Der Metaler-Treff ( auch Giaurs willkommen ! )

Hmm.... ich hör net soviel Metal... so eher nen bisschen Alt-rock, Funk, Punk, Ska.... und so... kennt sich vielleicht einer da nen bissli aus? Meine Favoriten sind im moment:

Hoobastank
Hoobustank (is net dasselbe)
Saliva
System of a down (passt jetzt wunderbar zum Rest)
Matchbox 20 is auch net schlecht
3 doors down... *schnurr*

und natürlich... Red Hot Chili Peppers... muss immer wieder sein ;-) aber die Jungs habens drauf!!

Kennt einer von euch eine von diesen Bands (boah, würd mich wundern wenn einer RHCP, Soad oder Matchbox 20 kennen würde... ich meine eigentlich spezifischer die andern... ;-) )

Naja RHCP, System of a down, 3 doors down, kennt wohl fast jeder.

Die andern habe ich auch fast alle zumindest vom Namen her schon mal gehört und ich weiß auch in etwas was die spielen. Ist aber natürlich ned so mein Fall.

System of a Down find ich aber ziemlich geil. Das ist einfach hammergeile Mucke.
Und wirklich auch KEIN NU-METAL für den die Musik von SOAD leider immer oft gehalten wird. Ich würds mal grob als Neo-Thrash Metal bezeichnen mit vielen Hardcore-Elementen.

also mir gefällt SOAD überhaupt ned Schon die Stimme von dem Sänger find ich grauenhaft aber ach musikalisch find ich die nich so sonderlich (sind nebenbei auch die einzigsten Lieder bei denen ich bei Justice ned vor der bühne steh um mal wieder auf alte diskussionen zurück zu kommen )

Naja.. haste das neue Album von System of a down schon gehört? Steal this album (ok so neu isses auch wieder net) aber das geht schon eher wieder in den Bereich Funk/Punk sogar teilweise Ska... ok es ist auch wieder laut.. aber die meisten lieder sind dann aber doch zum Totlachen

Von SOAD hab ich jedes Album. Sind einfach auch alle total genial. Also laut Metal.de ist es Metalcore. Einge schreiben es wär Hardcore, einge es wär Nu-Metal. Die passen einfach in keine Schublade. Sicherlich sind Punk-Einflüsse drin, aber da ist so ziemlich von allem bissel was dabei.

Sozusagen undefinierbarer Stil. Das hab ich bei nem Review zu ner CD von den Apokalyptischen Reitern auch schon mal lesen müssen.

Neuerdings heißt auch vieles, bei dem man nicht genau weiß was es ist, einfach Neo-Thrash Metal. Weil die Bands zwar in in bester Thrash-Manier drauflosknüppeln aber viel moderner klingen als die ersten Thrash-Combos aus den Achtzigern.

Thrash hat übrigens nix mit Trash (Müll) zu tun. Sondern heißt in etwa Geknüppel.

Ich glaube den Sinn des Songs hast du noch nicht ganz verstanden, lies nochmal den ganzen Text. Die wenigsten Soad Songs sind witzig gemeint, teilweise sind die Texte aber genau so wirr wie die Musik, so dass man über den Sinn nur rätseln kann. Trotzdem eine der genialsten bands überhaupt.

Alles klar, oder? Aber machen schöne Musik... ich würde es Melodic Power Metal nennen, Chaoskilla nennt es Melodic Death Metal, wie auch immer, auf jeden Fall haben die Jungs es drauf.

Und aus irgendeinem Grund verspüre ich jetzt den Drang nach Tentacious D. Die rocken auch. Vor allem Jack Black und Triumph in "Bob Barker". Ich darf den Text aber erst ab 22 Uhr angeben

Chaoskilla hat schon recht, Soilwork machen Melodic Death Metal.

Beim Power Metal komen z.B. keinerlei Growls vor.Im Gegenteil vor allem der Refrain wird meist extrem hoch gesungen.

Aber von wegen wirre Texte, das ist doch z.B. im Pop oder beim HipHop auch nicht besser.

Kenn ich zwar nich sonderlich gut, aber das was ich von soilwork bis jetz gehört hab war schonmal richdig doll

So... hab mir nochmal die älteren Beiträge durchgelesen. Zur Zeit, als Mosch die Soilwork Lyrics zitiert hat kannte ich die kaum bis garnicht, nun kenn ich so fast jeden Song von denen auch samt Lyrics.

Naja, Soilworks, oder besser gesagt Björn Strids, Texte scheinen vielen vielleicht wirr, weil sie wirklich teilweise kaum zu verstehen sind, deshalb liebe ich diese Texte. Der Mann hat es einfach drauf, manchmal kann man wirklich längere Zeit darüber philosophieren was er wohl mit den Texten sagen möchte, kommt zu einem passenden Ergebnis für sich, und wenn man ihn dann fragt, was seine Intention/Idee war, kommt etwas anderes dabei heraus, was genauso passt. Das, um mit den Worten meines Englisch Lehrers zu sprechen, macht Lyrik mit großem L aus.
So ist es mir zum Beispiel schon passiert, dass diverse Lieder in verschiedenen Situationen und Gefühlslagen anders von mir wahrgenommen wurden und die Texte manchmal völlig neue Bedeutungen bekamen.
Für meine lyrischen Texte ist ohne Zweifel diese Band eine große Inspiration
Es ist immer schwer zu sagen, welche Texte mir am besten gefallen, hier mal 2 von denen, die mir (mit so vielen anderen ) mit am besten gefallen, beide gehen von der Stimmung her in verschiedene Richtungen:

ich kenn keine andere band die so schnell ihren rhytmus wechseln kann. und außerdem die stimme,....das is rock
