3. Updated patcher

The patch itself will update the Command & Conquer 3 patch utility to ensure that the problems encountered with the 1.1 patch don’t happen again in the future. Specifically, some users weren’t prompted to download the 1.1 patch automatically when they went online in the game or clicked on the Check for Updates button on the Command & Conquer 3 Control Center. This fix should prevent that from happening again.

Anfangs im Topic hat sich ja Spin schon mit Mailadressen gemeldet an die wir diverses schicken können. Habe meine Angaben dorthin verschickt.

Hi there

Problem: Could not download new patch 1.1 from v1.0.

Solution:

step 1: Connect to EA ftp: //ftp.ea.com/pub/eapacific/cnc3/ with ftp client eg fireftp,cuteftp download the whole patch11 folder this is our patch yohoo to your local directory in your system eg cnc3v1.1.

step 2a: now browse to the directory patch11 in your local hardrive under that directory goto the folder core->1.1 then copy this to your cnc3 folder (installation directory for the game under the same folder core->1.1 now there should be 2 folder here 1.0 and 1.1( this is our 1.1 patch file)

step 2b: do the same this with Lang-english folder(from patch11) and copy contents to lang-english folder in cnc3 folder should be 1.1 there now as well.

step 2c: Do the same copy paste with RetailExe(from patch11 folder) copy it to cnc3 relevant folder "retailexe" should be 2 folder here now 1.0 and 1.1 after copying.

step 2d: navigate patch11 folder(the one from ftp site) under support folder select everything and copy it and paste it under support folder in cnc3 installation directory.

step 2e: copy cnc3.exe and patch11update.exe from patch11 folder to your cnc3 installation folder.

step 3: Now do some editing CNC3_english_1.0.SkuDef rename to CNC3_english_1.1.SkuDef in cnc3 directory should read CNC3_english_1.1.SkuDef now.

step 4: open the CNC3_english_1.1.SkuDef in notepad.

Change it to look like this,

set-exe RetailExe\1.1\cnc3game. dat
add-config Lang- english\1.1\config.txt
add- config EnglishAudio\1. 0\config.txt
add-config Movies\1.0\config.txt
add- config Core\1.1\config. txt
add-config SP\1.0\config. txt
add-config MP\1. 0\config.txt
add-config Kane\1.0\config.txt
add- config RetailExe\1.1\config. txt
add-search-path big:


once done and when you start a game you won't have any cursor lol now copy relevant cursor files from retailexe folder->1.0- >data to retailexe folder 1.1 folder, now you should have data folder under retailexe- >1.1->data and voila you will connect to ea online without requiring to update patch automatically.

Just read the above config and follow what u need and missing and replace it from 1.0.
